• Center for wooden boats - no surprise this is all about building boats! Occasional general classes including for women only

• Kids Carpentry - specially for the young ones. No power tools!

A little further afield

• Port Townsend School of Woodworking - great weekend trip to the peninsula. A wide range of different classes.

• Foss Waterway seaport - down in Tacoma - mostly boat related but the occasional general woodworking class

• North Central Washington Woodshop - over the mountains in Cashmere, WA

• BARN - a short ferry ride over to Bainbridge Island. Also much more than woodworking here.

Serious woodworking qualifications

• Seattle Central Wood technology - degree and certificate programs for carpentry, boat building and residential constructions
